Today we are twenty score and three years from July 1776, when, according to Lincoln’s Gettysburg address “our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty: (exemption from the arbitrary will of others, secured by established laws which restrain every man from injuring or controlling another) and dedicated to the proposition that ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL”
Today, in 2019, “we are engaged in a great civil war,“ of politics, LGBT agendas, abortion debates, taxation, fake news, historical revisionism, unconstitutional legislation, judicial overreach, voter fraud, border security and on goes the list. Corruption is growing due to the lack of moral law which quickly divides the nation into a battle of good versus evil.
Let’s just look at two key things that we are dealing with today.
1. Protection of Life: Recently New York’s Governor Cuomo signed the new Reproductive Health Act which legalized all abortions in New York state up until the actual birth of the child.
And, according to Biblical standards, Cuomo, to further this heinous act of child sacrifice, memorialized this new law, with further deity worship, ordered the World Trade Center, Empire State Building and other buildings to be lit up with pink lights, a chilling representation of how far we have allowed our civilization to stray from the truth.
In Psalm 106: 35-38 the psalmist wrote “ they mingled with the nations and learned their practices, and served their idols, which became a snare to them. They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan”…..aka the leftist leadership movement of today.
2. Border Security: We were involved in a government shut down because our Congress would not come into agreement to protect our borders, keep our citizens safe, lower drug trafficking, control the growing invasion of terrorists, and improve our citizens work opportunities and the wages of skilled labor.
This division in our government leadership reminds me of Lincoln’s Gettysburg address delivered on Nov 19, 1863, over one hundred fifty- six years ago, yet is so pertinent for today;
“testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war………… It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us…that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
I believe this nation will again embark on a new birth of freedom. To embrace that path of freedom will require our churches to boldly speak the Truth, and, our nation to return to an unchanging set of moral laws and values divinely designed to protect all life.
Due to our own complacency and lack of conviction we have allowed our national media sources, education system and entertainment industries to be overtaken by the lie from the left. We allowed our eyes to be blinded and our ears deafened, willingly straying from the core values of our original founding documents.
Dare I ask how many readers know what the Declaration of Independence actually says? Do you understand how that document operates as our articles of incorporation as a nation and was later complimented with the US Constitution which are our by-laws? Do you know anything about our 250 founding fathers, many of whom sacrificed everything they owned and their lives to establish the United States as a free republic? Did you know the vast majority of these men were devout Christians who wrote prolifically about their personal relationships with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His divine providence in their lives?
So, folks, what is it going to be? God’s way or the government’s way? Who is your source going to be? Do you even really know your source?
God’s people are warriors and we need to engage in the fight that is so clearly before us. If we don’t first protect the sanctity of life, and then our borders, we will have NO way to protect our families and homes.
A reasonable offer was made to Congress, by President Trump, to resolve the border issues. And we also know, many of our elected Democrats, who voted against the Border resolution, have repeatedly been on camera speaking out for a border wall at a much higher price tag than Trump’s.
This is not about money for one second. It’s about hate and a vicious commitment to try to take down President Trump and ruin any work he has accomplished to improve the security and economy of our nation.
Understand this, the battle between good and evil is raging! And, for the Democrats to allow any additional Trump campaign promises to be fulfilled is likely the final death knell to their prospects for taking the Presidency in 2020.
Proverbs 6:16-19 precisely defines where we are today as a nation:
“ There six things which the Lord hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil, a false witness who utters lies, and one who spreads strife among brothers.”
I pray that you will ponder these things and turn to the Lord for guidance. He promises to hear and heal. 2 Chronicles 7:14 “and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
